HEYWOOD MIDDLETON AND ROCHDALE

The Heywood, Middleton & Rochdale (HMR) Dementia Partnership Board have set out the vision for people living in HMR with dementia and their carers for the five years 2022 to 2027. The Board includes members from Pennine Care, Rochdale Borough Council, Care homes, Alzheimer's Society, Rochdale & District Mind and a representative with lived experience. The strategy to support the vision is in development and will be available during 2022. The vision for HMR is:

  • Make Rochdale a better place to live for people living with dementia or experiencing memory impairment and associated behaviour change and their carers
  • People with dementia are supported to live well and die well
  • Improve people’s lived experience of dementia and the services they receive providing choice and treating people with dignity
  • Equality, diversity and inclusion will be at the heart of services and support
  • Services will understand the symptoms of delirium and the distinction from dementia and people will be treated appropriately

If you are concerned that you or someone you know may have dementia, it is important to take action. Please speak to your GP initially to request a formal diagnosis.
